Our City Expert's Tips

Cabo San Lucas Harbor wears many hats. It is the place where cruise ships currently bring their tenders for the day and they are currently building a new location nearby. One of the local Mercados, or markets, is located here and you can find local handicrafts that include jewelry, blankets, Mexican vanilla, hats and clothing.

Many of the area's wealthy residents have yachts berthed here, but you can also rent these for day fishing charters. Along the waterfront you will also find many places such as Picante that offer the best in day or half-day sportfishing.

Along the waterfront you will find the three level Puerto Paraiso shopping mall with entertainment, restaurants, clothing, jewelry, and movie theaters.

They are currently building a new dolphin center along the side of the harbor that was scheduled to be finished by Christmas 2005, but is still not quite done. When it is, swimming with the dolphins will be a highlight of the area.

Sports Enthusiast
Cabo is the Marlin capital of the world, and located along the waterfront (in the harbor) is Montana de Baja. This is a husband-wife team that makes some of the world's most unique porcelain fishing lures on the market. They sink deeper and troll faster increasing your odds of hooking a big one. If you are looking to catch some big fish, check them out.
