Our City Expert's Tips

The Billy Goat Tavern is truly a dive; the only reason it keeps attracting visitors is for its "Saturday Night Live" connection. Still, the prices are reasonable, and it appeals to those in search of an authentic, non-chain restaurant experience. At night, the bar is a hangout for journalists from the nearby Tribune and Sun-Times newspaper offices.

Best damn egg sandwhich in town, 04/10/2008
Reviewer: anonymous

I had breakfast there a few days ago. Best egg, ham and cheese sandshich I've had in years. The coffee was prefectly brewed. If you haven't been to Billy Goats, you haven't been to Chicago.
