Our City Expert's Tips

This is a great place to get away from the city and relax; the only downside is that you need a car to get here. The Botanic Garden includes many different garden styles; the must-see ones are the walled English Garden, the Fruit & Vegetable Garden (where well-known local chefs give cooking demonstrations on weekends in the summer), and the Japanese Garden, a peaceful retreat spread out over a series of islands.

Adult Escape
Bring a book or newspaper along; the Garden is full of tranquil spots that are perfect for relaxing. Certain parts of the Garden get crowded on summer weekends, but it's large enough that there are always places you can "hide out" in peace and quiet.
