Our City Expert's Tips

Enjoy the great outdoors, the magnificent sky, and the dry Colorado air. However, use sunscreen liberally as it is easy to burn at this high altitude. Bring water and drink lots of it; Colorado is semi-desert so your body will need more than it's probably used to.

Summer Concerts
Take in a free concert during the summer (the Colorado Symphony plays annually in June). Fireworks display on the 4th of July.

Outdoorsy
While you're in the park: enjoy the beautiful wide-open spaces and gardens; the walking and running paths; streets blocked off which are great for in-line skating and bicyclists; two lakes that you can fish in (you'll need a license); 2 massive playgrounds; picnic areas; soccer fields, basketball court, rollerblade rink, horseshoe court, tennis court, and bowling/croquet greens; indoor pool and gym facilities; and free concerts in the summer.

Street Fair
Every Memorial Day weekend, The Old South Gaylord Merchant's Association puts on a fantastic street fair along South Gaylord. Come and enjoy the arts and crafts and food and music and all the local shops!
