Our City Expert's Tips

A trip here is well worth the effort, particularly if you're interested in seeing an early African American ranch. The efforts of Mollie Stevenson have garnered much attention with the oral historical presentations, the exhibits, and the historically attired lecturers.

Family Time
Call ahead, and also check on the rates for children, as they are reduced.

African-American History
Not only is this a museum, it's a working ranch. You'll have to make an appointment, but it's worth checking out, particularly if you have an interest in African-American history.

History Buff
The museum founder Molly Stevenson, Jr. and her mother, Molly Stevenson, Sr. were the first living black women to be inducted into the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth, Texas.
