Description

Explore white sand beaches, ancient cypress bogs, and wildflower meadows at this 275-acre nature park. Open since 1982, the park offers an array of recreational and educational opportunities. Hike the trails circling the park, or visit the Nature Center and learn how pioneer settlers and Native Americans lived along the banks of Spring and Cypress creeks in the 18th and 19th centuries. There's also lots of information available on the diverse ecosystms represented in the park.

Open Hours: 8am-5pm, Dec-Jan; 8am-6pm, Nov and Feb; 8am-7pm, Mar-Oct.
Notes: The Nature Center hours are 8am-4:30pm annually. It is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
Visit Time: 1hr-Full day(8hr)
Best Time to Visit: First Saturday in November for Pioneer Days and Texas Heritage Days in the spring.
Why Best: They are fun annual events.
