Our City Expert's Tips

Shopping at the Beverly Center is likely to keep you busy for hours, but if you still haven't maxed out your credit cards, head to the no less fashionable surrounding streets. The mall itself is popular with celebs, but they're even more likely to be spotted along Robertson Blvd, a few blocks south and west of the mall. Nicole Ritchie, Paris Hilton, and Gwen Stefani all favor uber-LA designer stores such as Kitson, Curve, and Lisa Kline. The stretch of Third Street, east of the Beverly Center, has one-of-a-kind knick-knack, vintage, art, and clothing boutiques.

If you're planning on exploring other parts of California, stop by the California Welcome Center at street level on the north side of the mall (Beverly Blvd).

Gourmet / Connoisseur
There's no shortage of good eats around here. The food court at the Beverly Center is fine for a bite when you're between stores, but at the end of your shopping spree, reward yourself with a proper meal at Locanda Veneta or Orso, both serving excellent Italian food on Third St south of the mall. Kids might prefer the Hard Rock Cafe on the northwest corner of the mall or a dog from Tail O'the Pup, a legendary hot dog stand shaped, well, just like a hot dog.
