Our City Expert's Tips

Along with St-Eustache church, this is one of the few historic buildings, recognizable by its dome, in Les Halles district. Originally it was the grain exchange building for Paris, then the commodities exchange. Today it's used by the Chamber of Commerce and is closed to the general public.

History Buff
The pillar standing out of place next to the Bourse du Commerce was part of a former building that was on the same site, where Queen Catherine Medici had built the Palais de la Reine. The column is said to have been used by her astrologer, Ruggieri (the people suspected she was a witch because of her belief in astrology).
