Description

Boca de Tomates is another popular beach located just north of Puerto Vallarta before crossing the Ameca River into the neighboring state of Nayarit. Because the river empties into Banderas Bay just north of the wide, sandy beach, a natural estuary is also home to crocodiles and many native bird species. On the beach itself there are a series of palapa restaurants with wonderful seafood at inexpensive prices. Although it's easiest to drive, there is a local bus that will take you all the way there.
