Our City Expert's Tips

Cabo Corrientes is the tip of the peninsula on the southern end of Banderas Bay, but Cabo Corrientes is also what the entire southern bay region is called. It's easily accessible from Puerto Vallarta and other points by boat, water taxi, and day tours on boat trips, including ecological adventures and overnights. Yelapa is one of the better known towns in this region, recognized as one of the hippy escapes from another era, still retaining that flavor as an artist destination. Majahuitas is a private ecological resort with no radios, TVs, or telephones to interrupt your time in this beach-boutique escape. Note that there are no accommodations made for wheelchair access along this coastline.

World Scholar
As the winter home of the humpback whale, this region is visited not only by camera-packing outdoors-types, but also by marine biologists studying the varied marine life.

Outdoorsy
In addition to beach escapes, Cabo Corrientes has good fishing, scuba diving, and snorkeling.
