Our City Expert's Tips


Buffalo in San Francisco? In Golden Gate Park? Yes. Go see them. The park also has many other attractions to offer besides the buffalo. Spreckles Lake is right next to the Paddock, and the famous Strybing Arboretum and Japanese Gardens are just down the road, to name a few. The park is a great place to spend the day, or part of it, especially when the weather is nice. If you're feeling energetic, you can follow the park trails all the way down to Ocean Beach.

Take it Easy
If you're not feeling much liking trekking, but still want to explore the park, check out the free shuttle. It picks up passengers at 15 locations throughout the park on weekends and holidays, from 10am-6pm through mid-December. Schedules available at the Golden Gate Concourse Authority website.
