Dating from the 1920s, the Black Madonna Shrine and Grottos was the work of a Franciscan named Brother Bronislaus Luszez from Poland, who dedicated his life to creating this stunning shrine. Filled with mosaic tiles and native Missouri rock sculptures, the shrine, its 10 grottos, and open-air chapel provide a peaceful backdrop for contemplation. You can take the self-guided walking tour or ask one of the brothers to show you around.
Best Modes of Transportation:

Notes: The Shrine is about 40 minutes west of St. Louis on Hwy 44; turn south at the Eureka exit onto Hwy 109 and drive to Hwy FF. Turn right and drive until you come to Hwy F. Turn left and drive to St. Joseph's Road. Turn right and you'll see the entrance on your left.
