Description
Before you start exploring Hilton Head, visit the Harbour Town Lighthouse at The Sea Pines Resort for an aerial view of the city. The lighthouse was completed in 1970, which is unique considering constructing lighthouses has been an uncommon private endeavor since the 1800s. This lighthouse, however, was built for visitors, and showcases some of the best panoramic views over the island. After you've climbed to the top (91 feet up to be exact), spend some time in the Shop At The Top, where you can purchase charms, jewelry, local artwork, and Hilton Head memorabilia, while also stealing glimpses of life below.
