Description

This Atlantic City landmark has been serving up some of the best oysters and seafood in town since it opened its doors in 1897. It was originally owned and operated by Harry Dougherty (who preferred to be called "Dock"), and had a mission of serving the freshest and best seafood available. Dock turned the restaurant over to his son Joseph in 1938, who in turn, bequeathed the oyster house to his son, Joe Jr., in 1969. Joe Jr. gave the restaurant a face lift, adding modern kitchens, a cocktail lounge, and expanding the seating area. Today, Dock's retains its old-world charm while serving up a full raw bar and other great seafood dishes in an intimate dining atmosphere that continuously delights both visitors and locals.
