For movie trivia buffs, you will recognize Hanama'ulu Beach from the 1963 film Donovan's Reef. For all others, you will simply appreciate the camping grounds on the beach, one of the only locations where camping is allowed in Kauai. It also has good swimming, a series of lagoons, and a beautiful woodsy area bordering the stream. This is a place almost exclusively frequented by locals, who bring their families on weekends to relax and frolic in the sand and sun. Overall, this is a very nice town to visit when you want to escape the tourist mainstays of the island.
Best Modes of Transportation:

Parking Safety: Somewhat Safe
Notes: Local homeless people may occasionally camp here.
