The Atlanta Botanical Gardens encompass 30 acres and features thousands of colorful flowers and native plants. The garden was incorporated in 1976 and has provided a sanctuary for Atlanta residents and visitors since it opened its doors. The garden contains both an indoor and an outdoor garden, each of which are split up into smaller garden plots with different themes. Inside the conservatory, you'll find the lobby (which features educational displays about the garden's plants), the tropical rotunda, the desert house, orchid hall, and various other exhibit areas. Outdoors, you'll see everything from a Japanese garden to a rose garden to a display of water plants. In addition to wandering the garden's many pathways, be sure to check out their event and workshop offerings, which are both an educational and fun way of learning about plants.
