Description
Founded in 1986 by families of the Challenger 51-L crew, there are 51 Challenger Learning Centers throughout north America and the UK, all with a mission of encouraging learning in math, science, and technology. A visit to one of the two facilities located in Houston is a journey into the life of an astronaut for a day. Offering realistic simulations of Mission Control and an orbiting space station, the centers allow students to experience the thrill of preparing for and enacting a successful space mission. You'll need to schedule a mission slot for your group a couple of months in advance, but the center also does birthday parties on Saturdays.
