Description

This premier winery was founded in 1972 by winemaker Bernard Portet, a descendant of Bordeaux wine merchants and he was trained in that region. The winery immediately established its reputation when its first release Cabernet Sauvignon placed in the top five in the famous blind wine-tasting in Paris 1976. The same wine was awarded first place in a rematch in 1986. The facility includes a charming ivy-draped stone tasting room and a spacious shaded picnic area. The winery produces four "series" of wines, primarily red varietals and premium Cabernet Sauvignons.
