Located in a beautifully-restored 1907 fire house, Fire Station #1 is now home to a great museum full of exhibits about the first 150 years of Forth Worth history. Visitors will be treated to a wide array of exhibits, such as a scale model of 1849-era Fort Worth, displays on the Clovis people who once inhabited the area, a spotlight on Maj. General William Jenkins Worth (who the city was named after), and much more. The building's history also presents an interesting story, as it was originally used as the first city hall and mayor's office, and at the same time, was the home of the first volunteer fire department, which occupied the first floor.
