Description
Founded in 2001, the Frist Center's goal is to be a family-friendly environment where families as a whole can learn about and appreciate art. The Center hosts a number of rotating visual art exhibits throughout the year; each exhibit lasts approximately six to eight weeks. The Frist's ArtQuest Gallery, a permanent feature, is an interactive, hands-on space that allows children to explore visual art concepts, many of which relate to current exhibitions. Aside from learning and practicing basic techniques, children have the opportunity to learn what art means and how it relates to society. The Frist Center also has a gift shop, which sells art books, supplies, jewelry, and more, and a cafe.
