Description

Located in the Spiegelkwartier - a neighbourhood known for its large concentration of galleries, this is not just another gallery. Stichting De Appel, centrum voor hedendaagse kunst (De Appel Foundation, centre for contemporary art) shows those forms of contemporary art which are not shown anywhere else, as of yet. Every year there are about six exhibitions of new contemporary art made by young, innovative and unknown artists, alone or in groups. This was also one of the first galleries to exhibit video-art. Among the list of other activities organised by this Foundation, two worth mentioning are their publications and the courses organised for exhibition-makers.
