Nestled between Avenidas Santa Fe, General Las Heras, and Republica Arabe Siria in the northern Palmero neighborhood, lies the Carlos Thays Botanical Garden boasting thousands of varieties of both exotic and local flora species. Designed and built in 1892 by the revered French landscape architect Carlos Thays, the botanical garden features tranquil pathways, over 30 sculptures, a greenhouse brought back from the 1900 Paris Exhibition, as well as a botanical library and schoolhouse. As if the plant life spanning the globe wasn't enough, the garden is also home to a flourishing population of wild cats, making this a beautiful oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of the city.
