Description

It's about a three-hour drive from Tucson, but it's well worth it. This old town on steep hills offers a glimpse into Arizona's history of copper mining. The industry boom ended with the collapse of copper prices in the 1970s, leaving the area depressed until creative people moved in to make Bisbee into an artist colony, which now attracts visitors from all over the world. Where there are artists, of course, there are galleries and the numbers are growing. Browse the many antique stores, stroll down picturesque streets, explore the copper mines, and lunch at the famous Copper Queen Hotel.
