The exhibits at the Aerospace Museum of California will impress any airplane aficionado, but the museum is about far more than planes. Historical programs and educational outreach programs make the museum a valuable contributor to the aerospace sciences. The aircraft on display include a Curtiss-Wright B-14-B “Speedwing” bi-plane built in 1932, a number of WWII era ASAF planes, and several Soviet MIG fighters. Engineers will appreciate the impressive collection of engines on display. The museum also plays the role of caretaker of the history of McClellan Air Force Base, now closed, which was an important base in the WWII and Cold War eras.
