Cape Cod has a distinctly characteristic homes and the Swift-Daley House and Tool Museum is one of the prime examples of Cape Cod style architecture and design. The house was built in 1741 and features a signature bowed roof that was typical of Cape houses of that era, many of which were built by ship carpenters. The 18th-century home's other notable architectural features include a deep fireplace, wide wood floor boards, and narrow stairways. The home was named after Nathaniel Swift, who once occupied the house in the mid-1800s and then later for the Daley's who bought the home in 1939 and restored it to its current condition before donating the house to the Eastham Historical Society in 1974. Today, visitors are welcome to come tour the house that is complete with period furniture, and collections of clothing, quilts, and other housewares.
