Heather Stimmler-Hall
City Expert
Heather Stimmler-Hall came to Paris in 1995 as a university student, studying art, history, international politics, and, most frequently, the local map. After several fun jobs working in an American muffin shop, a French café, and an Irish pub, her first real job was as the travel editor at ELLE.com's Paris headquarters. A year later she went freelance and started the Secrets of Paris newsletter.
She spent three years on the French Riviera, commuting to Paris once a month to research articles and update guidebooks. She moved back to Paris in 2004, the same year as the publication of her first own full-length guidebook to Paris, Paris & Ile-de-France Adventure Guide.
She now divides her time between freelance writing and conducting private tours of the lesser-known areas of Paris and the surrounding region.

Brenna Fleener
City Expert
Brenna Fleener has been living, studying, and working abroad for nearly five years. After finishing college in California, she moved to Bologna, Italy, to study Italian cinema and literature. Quickly deciding that northern Italian winters in a medieval city weren’t as romantic as they first sounded, she moved south to Rome to work and play semi-professional water polo. She then relocated to Paris, where she manages the Paris office of the tourism company Context:Travel. When she’s not out searching for the best Belgian beer bars, she’s either hunting for treasures at Parisian thrift stores or at the Sorbonne, where she’s preparing a second degree in French Language and Literature.

David McCairley
Photographer
David McCairley is a Paris-based photographer. He's married to Martina, who is tolerant and wonderful. When not trying to look after his two small (ish) (6 and 2) children, Axel and Ines, he's trying to capture that essential moment--or take a decent photo, whichever comes first. A graduate of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, he feels that this was the perfect preparation for a life of skepticism and indolence. He fancies a further degree in media studies, geology, or accountancy, but generally he can't be bothered.
He was previously employed as a social worker, and his favorite authors include the holy B's: Burroughs, Ballard, and Burgess, with Michel Houellebecq coming up strong at the post.
He keeps fish. Well, one, called "Flashito."
He likes Nicholas Cage and Lord of War. See it.
Favorite superhero: One of Spiderman's early opponents who had an overwhelming hatred for superheroes and excellence in general, known only as "a guy named Joe."
Fave food: Boudin (black pudding)
Preferred escapes: Barcelona, Cornwall, Charente

Photographer
In her copious free time, as she ran around Paris checking details for us, Heather also did some photography for us. Without her talented help, Paris wouldn't be nearly as complete, photo-wise, as it is.
