Don Philpott
City Expert
Don Philpott spent 20 years as a senior correspondent/editor with Reuters-Press Association wire service traveling the world on assignments. In 1978 he co-founded Footloose, an outdoors activities magazine in the UK and in 1988 he relocated to the US making Orlando his base as a freelance travel writer.
He has had more than 5,000 articles published in newspapers and magazines in the US and UK – mostly on travel, wine, food and diet and health. He has written 56 books, including the 22 titles in the Landmark Visitors Guide series to Florida and the Caribbean. These titles include Visitors Guide to Orlando and Central Florida, Visitors Guide to Florida’s Gulf Coast and Visitor’s Guide to the Florida Keys. He now specializes on writing about Florida and the Caribbean. His latest book, The Trailside Cookbook – Gourmet cooking for campers, was co-authored with his wife, Pam.
Don is a member of the International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association and the North American Travel Writers Association. In his spare time, he is a volunteer park ranger at Wechiwa Springs State Park where he helps run the nature center and interpretive programs.

Pam Brandon
City Expert
Pam Brandon is a published author and 30-year veteran of news and feature reporting, based in Winter Park, Fla. In 1995, she started her own company, Pam Brandon Editorial Services.
Brandon is the author of The Unofficial Guide to Florida and The Unofficial Guide to Florida With Kids, both published by Wiley Publishing Inc., and is co-author of Culinary Confessions of the PTA Divas published by Menasha Ridge Press. She has written several books for Disney Publishing, including One Day at Disney, Marking the Millennium, Cooking With Mickey and Cooking With Mickey and the Disney Chefs.
Her travel and feature stories have appeared both on-line and in numerous local and national publications, including Child magazine, the Orlando Sentinel, Caribbean Travel Planner and the St. Petersburg Times.
Brandon started her career at the Charleston Gazette in Charleston, W.Va., and later worked as news editor for Orlando Magazine in Orlando, Fla. She was a senior publicist for Walt Disney World Resort prior to creating her own company.
She was featured on the Travel Channel’s “Disney Secrets” special, and as co-author of Culinary Confessions of the PTA Divas has appeared on NBC’s Today Show and The Daily Buzz morning show and been featured in Southern Living and the New York Daily News.
