March 24, 2008 -- Home&Abroad Hires New CIO and VP of Product Development

BOULDER, CO -- Home&Abroad snagged two highly regarded industry professionals in a recent office expansion.

Prior to joining H&A, Ray Agostinelli was the President of Kaivo Software, a consulting firm focused on open source technologies that serves non-profit and commercial enterprise clients. He is also co-owner of Zephyr Self-Guided Adventures, a travel company providing hiking, biking, and driving tours in Tuscany and Umbria, Italy. Throughout the 90's, Ray held executive leadership roles in several venture-funded startups. As Vice President of Product Development, Ray will work to extend Home&Abroad's tools in innovative new directions, and oversee the roll-out of the new Trip Planner On Demand system, currently in the works.

James Barnett, Chief Information Officer, brings over twenty years of software engineering experience to Home&Abroad. His professional path has included both start-ups, and larger, publicly traded corporations, including Sun Microsystems, Rational Software, and BEA Systems. James has led numerous technology efforts including SOA, J2EE, n-tier, and client server frameworks and applications. Most recently, he lead BEA's Service Component Architecture (SCA) tooling effort, which integrates the BEA suite of AquaLogic/SOA products. James's initial effort at H&A will be to lead the Trip Planner On Demand system development effort, and to enhance the core Trip Planner application with a new set of features that meet the needs of the company's increased customer base.
